Birth Doula & Post Partum Support

“I just wanted to give you a thank you for everything you did. You listen to you supported. You consoled a sweaty, exhausted hormonal mess.

You took amazing photos that I will cherish forever. You champion you came to the hospital at 4 am. You answered all daughters questions you helped carry my partner– you get it – your a legend you’re a gem. You’re a wise woman. Thank you.

Thanks for your presence for your guidance, your encouragement thank you for empowering women. Thank you for honouring my decisions. Thank you for supporting and understanding free birth. This is so important. Thank you for a friendship for being such an integral part of my birth in experience.” Noosh

My name is Sheridan and I‘m a Birth and Post Partum doula and Birth/Post Partum Documentary Photographer.

As an doula, I walk alongside you as you navigate birth as a rite-of-passage.

I will support you as you make choices for your birth experience that align with your values and the evidence (science) of birth. I support women and their right to birth on their terms so they reclaim their autonomy and trust in their body’s wisdom. As a doula, I believe that birth is a natural, physiological process. I’m here to hold space for you while you harness your own intrinsic wisdom to birth your baby your way and creating a birthing space where intuition reigns.

For me being a birth keeper means that I hold space, I do not direct your birth nor insert myself into your experience…I’ll be there when you walk through the fire, knowing that you don’t need to be saved, I'm here to remind you of how strong, capable, powerful and knowing you already are, I’ll remind you of this when you forget it or loose believe in yourself.

I want your birth to be centred around you and I will tailor my service to your unique needs.

I’m about you getting the birth you want, the experience you want.

I’m about you feeling safe, heard and supported.

I believe that birth is life’s most transformative, incredible and memorable experience, I believe in women and their ability to birth.

Whether you are birthing at home or in the hospital I want you to be educated and confident. I’ll support you to face the depth of the transition and embrace the intensity of birth so you walk into motherhood empowered. I’m there to not only to support you but also your partner on this journey in becoming parents.

I attend all types of births - births outside the system, home birth, hospital and cesarean births

I’m an Enrolled nurse currently working in the Tasmanian healthcare system, with my training and professional experience I can educate, support and empower you in navigating the hospital so you get a positive birth experience.

I am a member of the Doula Network Australia and Home Birth Australia.

I have been trained by Fiona Hallinan in Spinning Babies® techniques and I’m excited to be able to offer to clients this knowledge to release tension and balance muscles to create space within the woman's body and pelvis for an easier, smoother labour and birth.

“Sheridan has been the biggest gift to ourselves in our pregnancy and birth. She has truly complemented our personal beliefs and choices in birthing at home and has held a beautiful space for us in all of our conversations and during our birth time. We appreciate so much how Sheridan was able to help us in all the ways we hadn’t thought of and we felt so cared for.

In the days after our daughter’s birth, when we saw the photos Sheridan had taken, I was amazed at how they re-told our story and at the precious moments that they had captured. She was subtle and thoughtful in how she took them. I never realised how impactful it would be, to have these photos and memories and I’m beyond grateful we chose to have Sheridan alongside us, and for all her talents and skill. “ Lisa and Victor
